Ragusa Ibla consists of two parts: the modern city and the ancient Ibla, which is more traditional and particularly loved by tourist.

After being devastated by the earthquake in 1693 Ragusa Ibla was rebuilt in Baroque style by architect Gagliardi. One of the monuments in Baroque style is the Basilica of San Giorgio.

The small cluster of houses perched on rocky crags, the squares, the chruches, the streets attract tourists from everywhere.
