With its approximately 3300 meters above sea level, Mt Etna is like a giant fireball placed in the heart of the Mediterranean. Mt. Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe. With its high range temperatures, continuous eruptions, a variety of landscapes (water, woods, lava flows), Mt Etna has a varied habitat with an incredible variety of animal and plant species. But be aware: above 2500 meters nothing grows, only a few sporadic gorse. During a hike, which will be forever etched in your memory, while sitting on lava outcrop, prematurely cooled by icy nights, we will admire the beautiful scenery of the Aeolian Islands and the extraordinary fusion of water and fire, earth and air. Etna Park, established in 1987, is composed of twenty municipalities of Catania and it is, as a whole, a unique environment in the Mediterranean.
